Jerry Jones Reveals Surprising QB Development In Dallas

Since joining the Dallas Cowboys in August 2023, Trey Lance’s trade value has reportedly improved. However, recent comments from team owner Jerry Jones seem to put a damper on any trade speculation for now.

Jones spoke to reporters and all but assured that Lance will remain on the Cowboys’ 53-man roster as the NFL’s August 27 roster cut deadline approaches.

Jones made his position clear, stating, “Do I need to see any more from Trey Lance? Can we stop there? And the answer is yes. Yes. He’s going to be on the 53.”

Despite this strong endorsement, speculation about a potential trade for Lance had been circulating, with outlets like CBS Sports and Bleacher Report suggesting that this might be the opportune moment for the Cowboys to consider a deal.

Lance demonstrated his potential during the Cowboys’ second preseason game.

The 24-year-old quarterback threw for 151 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-23 passing, while added 34 rushing yards and another score on the ground over three quarters of play.

Following this performance, former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert, known for his quarterback analysis on social media, praised Lance’s showing.

Of course, when speaking about quarterbacks in Dallas, all the attention is focused on starter Dak Prescott and what the future holds for him.

As for Lance, if you take Jones at his word, it seems like he will be on the roster going forward.

However, should the Cowboys consider trading him? … Or would the juice not be worth the squeeze? (After all, how much value does he really have?)

More importantly, what do you think will end up happening with Prescott’s situation???
