Huskies Star Calls it Quits! Shocking Retirement Announcement Leaves Fans in Tears (of Laughter)

Washington Huskies linebacker Drew Fowler just announced his retirement from football, and he did it in a way that only a business school grad could. Three days after the Huskies’ tough loss to Louisville in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, Fowler took to Twitter to share the news with a cleverly worded and humorous post.

After thanking his coaches, teammates, and the Husky Nation, Fowler announced that he’s updated his LinkedIn profile and is officially entering the job market. He described himself as “gritty, hardworking, sneaky, athletic” and promised to always bring his lunch pail to work. Sounds like a guy any boss would want to hire!

Fowler had a solid career with the Huskies. He played five seasons, helping them reach the national championship game last year (though they ultimately fell short against Michigan). He was a key part of their defense, racking up 42 tackles in 49 games and having a standout season in 2023 with 17 sacks.

But Fowler’s got more than just football skills. He graduated with honors from Washington’s Foster School of Business and already has some impressive internships under his belt. This guy’s clearly got a bright future ahead of him, both on and off the field.

It’s always a bit bittersweet when a player decides to hang up their cleats. But in Fowler’s case, it sounds like he’s ready for the next chapter. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in the business world. Maybe he’ll even become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company someday!
