HOF’er Attacks Jerry Jones After Arrogant Meltdown

Things are getting quite ugly in Big D.

Following the Cowboys’ 47-9 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions at home, Dallas now sits with a disappointing 3-3 record as we get closer to the midway point of the season.

Owner Jerry Jones is feeling the heat, and rightfully so. However, he didn’t do himself too many favors with the way he snapped at a Dallas radio host during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan this morning.

“Listen, let me tell you what I’ll do about it, I will let us sit down and look at the decisions we’ve made over the last several years. OK? I’ll look at it,” Jones began.

“Now if you think I’m interested on a damn phone call with you over the radio and sitting here and throwing all the good out with the dishwater, you’d have got to be smoking something over there this morning.

“I’m not. And I really don’t ā€¦ And I don’t even want our listeners listening to me talk about. This is not your job. Your job isn’t to let me go over the reasons that I did something and I’m sorry that I did it.

“That’s not your job … That’s not your job or I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions, men. No, no. I’m not kidding.”

Needless to say, plenty of people have been angered by the verbal lashing by Jones. One of those people is none other than NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.

Appearing on ESPN’s First Take, Sharpe strongly condemned Jones’ comments, accusing the Cowboys owner of abusing his power.

ā€œTo put a man in fear for his job, I hate, I detest, I despise someone that would pray on the weak,ā€ Sharpe said. ā€œAnd because Jerry Jones is in an advantageous situation, because he has the power in this situation, he would actually say that publicly.

“That tells me a lot about a man, that tells me a lot about a man that has power and would abuse that power to tell that man I will get somebody in here to ask me favorable questions. that is absolutely that guy’s job is to ask.ā€

Sharpeā€™s frustration also highlighted a broader issue with Jones’ management style. He accused the Cowboys owner of wanting credit when things go right but deflecting responsibility when they donā€™t.

ā€œJerry wants all the credit when things go well but none of the blame,ā€ Sharpe continued. ā€œHe told us how many times, ā€˜the buck stops with me, any deal thatā€™s ever happened I either signed off on it or I got notified of it.ā€™

“Now you getting trounced, you getting run through like Sherman went through Atlanta during the Civil War and now you want no part of it when they ask you about it.ā€

Jones has faced criticism before, notably for his hesitancy to make big offseason moves and his delays in extending contracts for key players like quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

The frustration is growing, especially after the Cowboys were blown out of their own building – once again.

What are your thoughts on Jones’ controversial comments?

More importantly, do you think the Cowboys will be able to turn their season around before it’s too late???
