ESPN insider Adam Schefter says that re-signing McCarthy is still the Cowboys’ top priority. But they’ve got to have a backup plan, especially since other teams are already making moves to fill their coaching vacancies.
Sarkisian has NFL experience, having served as the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator in 2018.2 He’s also done a solid job at Texas, going 38-16 since taking over in 2021.3 He’s known for his offensive mind and his ability to develop quarterbacks, which could be a major draw for the Cowboys.4
This is definitely a situation to watch, folks. If the Cowboys decide to move on from McCarthy, Sarkisian could be at the top of their list.
