Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon, set to be inducted into the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor later this year, has reportedly been arrested once again.

A mugshot bearing the name Justin Carl Blackmon surfaced on social media over the weekend, with reports indicating the former standout was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Blackmon starred at Oklahoma State from 2009 to 2011, leaving behind one of the most decorated careers in program history. Over three seasons, he caught 253 passes for 3,464 yards and 40 touchdowns, earning back-to-back unanimous All-American honors and winning the Biletnikoff Award twice as the nation’s top receiver.

His collegiate dominance led the Jacksonville Jaguars to select him with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Blackmon showed flashes of that elite talent, posting 64 receptions for 865 yards and five touchdowns on his way to making the NFL’s All-Rookie Team. However, his NFL career was quickly derailed. Suspensions limited him to just four games in 2013, and he hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since.

Blackmon’s latest legal troubles continue a troubling trend. He was previously arrested for marijuana possession in 2014 and for driving under the influence in 2015. He was sentenced to a year in prison for the DUI arrest, though the sentence was suspended in favor of a year’s probation.

Despite the off-field issues, Blackmon’s on-field legacy remains significant. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023 and is slated to enter Oklahoma State’s Ring of Honor this November — a celebration of one of the most electric players in Cowboys history, albeit one whose post-college life has been marred by repeated run-ins with the law.

As of now, no further details have been released regarding the circumstances of his latest arrest.
