The Green Bay Packers have emerged as a formidable force in the NFL, with 2024 shaping up to be a promising year for the team.
Following an impressive 2023 season, the Packers are set to build on their success, largely due to the standout performance of young quarterback Jordan Love.
Love, now 25, made a sensational debut last year, delivering a rookie season that exceeded expectations.
He racked up 32 touchdown passes against 11 interceptions, guiding the Packers to the playoffs where he played his best ball of the season.
His body of work earned him a new contract, hopefully solidifying his role as the franchise’s cornerstone for years to come.
ESPN NFL insider Louis Riddick has praised Love’s potential, suggesting that if every NFC team had to start fresh, Love would be the quarterback to build around.
“Jordan Love, to answer your question, he is the one,” Riddick stated. “That’s the one if you’re starting a football team right now that’s the guy you want.
“That’s exactly the way Brian Gutekunst, the general manager up there at the Packers, looks at it. They are betting on the future.”
The Packers made significant strides in 2023, and with another strong performance in 2024, they could be poised to join the ranks of the NFL’s elite contenders.
Having said that, many people feel that the sample size for Love isn’t large enough to warrant giving him the massive deal that they did.
After all, he’s only played one season and went through his fair share of struggles at times. Although his dominant performances in the playoffs were quite impressive.
As for Riddick’s declaration that there isn’t a quarterback he’d want to start his franchise with more than Love, do you agree or disagree with him?
