Expert’s Shocking QB Claim Leaves NFL World Speechless

In his latest podcast episode, the polarizing Colin Cowherd offered a bold prediction that could soon find widespread support.

Following the Denver Broncos’ dominant 27-2 preseason victory over the Green Bay Packers, Cowherd expressed his belief that Bo Nix will emerge as the best quarterback from this year’s NFL Draft class.

Cowherd didn’t just compare Nix to any quarterbacks – he stacked him up against some of the most highly-touted first-round prospects, including Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, J.J. McCarthy, and Michael Penix Jr.

“Here’s a take,” Cowherd stated. “Bo Nix has a better arm than I think people realize. I think he’s more cut and athletic than people think. I noticed this when I saw him live on the field against Utah.”

Cowherd was referencing Oregon’s game against Utah last season, where Nix led the Ducks to a convincing 35-6 victory.

In that game, Nix delivered an impressive performance, completing 24 of 31 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.

Cowherd further explained why he believes in Nix’s NFL potential. He highlighted the significance of Nix landing in Denver with head coach Sean Payton, whom Cowherd regards as one of the top offensive minds in football.

Cowherd contrasted this with other rookie quarterbacks like Williams and Daniels, who ended up with defensive-minded coaches such as the Chicago Bears’ Matt Eberflus and the Washington Commanders’ Dan Quinn.

He also noted that J.J. McCarthy is sidelined with a season-ending injury, and Michael Penix Jr. might not see much action unless Kirk Cousins gets hurt.

Nix, who was selected as the last quarterback in the first round at No. 12 overall by the Broncos, initially raised eyebrows as some considered him a reach.

However, in just two preseason games, Nix is beginning to prove his doubters wrong, looking like one of the best picks in this year’s draft.

Anyone who followed Nix in college knows that he is likely the most “NFL ready” quarterback of the entire draft class.

When you combined Nix’s off-the-charts football-IQ and accuracy along with the fact that he finds himself under the guidance of a brilliant offensive mastermind like Payton, it’s hard to imagine him not flourishing in Denver.

So far, Nix has completed 23 of 30 passes (69%) for 205 yards, throwing two touchdowns without any interceptions in his preseason outings.

In Sunday night’s game against the Packers, he was particularly sharp, completing 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.

At 24 years old, Nix enters the NFL with extensive experience, having played five years in college. During his last two seasons at Oregon, he nearly achieved a 75% completion rate, amassing 8,101 yards, 74 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions.

What are your thoughts on Nix’s future?

When it’s all said and done, do you think Nix will be the best quarterback to come from the 2024 draft class???
