End Of An Era??: Connected-Insider Reports Andy Reid May RETIRE After Season … Who Should Take Over In KC??

It appears that one of the NFL’s most accomplished head coaches of all-time, Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs, may be contemplating retirement after the conclusion of the season.

The speculation was brought to light by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who suggested that Reid’s decision could hinge on the Chiefs performance this postseason.

“He hasn’t said anything publicly about it, yet. It would be foolish for the team and members of the current coaching staff and potential external candidates to replace Reid to not be considering the possibility – unless and until there’s definitive word from Reid that he’s returning for 2024,” Florio said.

“It’s possible he’s already made a decision. It’s possible the decision will hinge on whether the Chiefs make another run deep into the postseason, perhaps back to the Super Bowl.”

“It’s possible that the players needs to realize this might be it for Reid, in order to access the motivation to have things finally fall together in a way that, to date, they haven’t – especially offensively,” he added.

The possibility of Reid’s retirement gained traction following the Chiefs victory in Super Bowl 54 against the San Francisco 49ers, marking Reid’s first championship as an NFL head coach.

Last year, he secured a second Super Bowl ring, solidifying his status as one of the greatest coaches in league history.

Florio suggested that Reid might be contemplating retirement now that he has achieved nearly everything there is to accomplish in his illustrious career.

However, the veteran coach has not provided any direct hints about retirement, meaning all reports are only speculation at this point.

Some people believe there’s no truth to Reid contemplating retirement…

Do you think Reid is actually considering retiring?

Do you still consider him an elite coach in the NFL?

Let’s say he does indeed retire – Who should replace him in Kansas City?

Regarding this year’s team, they clearly aren’t the Chiefs we’ve become accustomed to over the past few years – Do you think they have a legitimate chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions???
