CFB Experts Predict Shocking Upsets

While Tennessee-Georgia is the biggest game on tomorrow’s college football slate, there’s another juicy SEC matchup which the majority of the country will have a close eye on.

Of course, I’m referring to Florida-LSU.

The Tigers are coming off a devastating defeat against Alabama. Although that loss most likely knocks Brian Kelly’s team out of the playoffs, there’s still plenty to play for, and it’s safe to assume LSU will come out with an extra chip on their shoulder.

Needless to say, most people expect LSU to win the game despite it being played at The Swamp. However, one notable analyst is actually predicting Florida to pull off the upset.

“I’m taking Florida in the game,” ESPN’s Greg McElroy confidently stated on his “Always College Football” podcast.

“I don’t think LSU has solved their problems with quarterback run. I think [DJ] Lagway will hit a few runs, I think he’ll throw a few deep balls, and I think LSU is just a little bit too one-dimensional.”

Elsewhere, three-time Super Bowl champion Randy Cross has gone on the record predicting another significant upset this weekend.

Appearing on “Inside College Football,” the CBS Sports analyst broke down tomorrow’s crucial AAC matchup between the No. 25 Tulane Green Wave and the Navy Midshipman.

Tulane currently sits at 8-2, boasting an unblemished 6-0 record in conference play, while Navy is not far behind at 7-2.

Despite Tulane’s recent success, Cross believes Navy has the edge and is poised to pull off an upset.

“The last two games, Tulane’s defense has been giving up about five yards per carry against the rush,” Cross said. “Against a team like Navy, that doesn’t bode well, plus Tulane is on the road. Tulane is also 1-6 in their last seven games against Navy. I’ll go with the Midshipmen.”

Tulane entered the Top 25 rankings this week, but a defeat to Navy would push them back out.

The Green Wave, however, remain in contention for the AAC Championship, and with victories over Navy and an undefeated Army team in the title game, they would have a compelling case for a potential College Football Playoff berth.

Yet, to clinch that dream, Tulane may still need some help, such as a stumble from Boise State, which currently leads the Mountain West and holds a CFP position.

Tulane has quietly built a strong resume, riding a seven-game winning streak led by quarterback Darian Mensah, though they have not garnered substantial media attention.

Navy, on the other hand, started the season with momentum but has recently struggled, including a blowout loss in Week 10 against Notre Dame.

Touching on the biggest game of the weekend for a second … It should be noted that CBS analysts Tom Fornelli and Jerry Palm both predict Tennessee to knock off the Georgia Bulldogs.

Regardless of how healthy Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava is, if Tennessee actually defeats Georgia in Athens tomorrow night, it would be one of the biggest upsets of the entire college football season.

What are your thoughts on all of the matchups? … Do you think we’ll see any shocking upsets tomorrow???
