NFL Expert Proposes Mega Trade Between Cowboys and Giants

The 2023 NFL season is shaping up with contrasting narratives for two NFC East adversaries. While the Cowboys have quickly stamped their mark as one of the NFC’s top contenders, the Giants have unfortunately found themselves grappling with injuries and hovering near the NFL’s basement through the first seven weeks.

With the trade deadline on the horizon, speculations are rife about potential trades that could alter the landscape for several teams. Adding fuel to the trade rumor mill, Nick Wright of Fox Sports 1 shared a bold proposition during an episode of “First Things First.” He suggested that the Cowboys should consider pursuing Giants’ marquee running back, Saquon Barkley.

Nick Wright opined, “For a game-changing move, Dallas should ring up the Giants and inquire about Saquon.”

However, given the Cowboys’ recent decision to part ways with Ezekiel Elliott, who subsequently joined the New England Patriots, it raises eyebrows whether they’d invest a hefty draft pick for Barkley. Especially considering Barkley is on the cusp of seeking a lucrative deal in free agency. Not to mention, the Cowboys already had a dance with contractual negotiations this offseason, navigating Tony Pollard’s deal. This background makes a pursuit of Barkley even less plausible.

Trading Barkley, especially to a divisional nemesis like the Cowboys, seems like a long shot for the Giants. Yet, as the clock ticks down to the trade deadline, it’ll be intriguing to monitor Barkley’s trajectory and the decisions swirling around him.
