Deion Sanders is back on his feet and feeling great, sharing his exuberance in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) after spending some time away from the public eye due to a health issue. While he hasn’t divulged the specifics of his illness, it’s no secret that the Colorado Buffaloes head coach has faced his fair share of serious medical challenges over the years. From blood clots that once necessitated the amputation of two toes on his left foot to multiple surgeries, Sanders has endured a lot.

In this latest chapter of his health journey, he took some much-needed time at his ranch in Texas to recuperate. While he chose a quieter path for his recovery, he wasn’t completely alone—his extended family and an unexpected friend were there to support him during this period.

That friend turned out to be none other than celebrity chef Eric Smoot, who took charge of Coach Prime’s meals, providing the nutritional support that was crucial for his speedy recovery. Smoot’s culinary care was instrumental enough that Sanders felt compelled to sing his praises. The chef shared a photo on social media with the visibly slimmer NFL star, stating, “An absolute honor to cook for the legendary @deionsanders over the past few weeks. Grateful for the chance to serve excellence right in his kitchen.”

In response, Sanders expressed his heartfelt appreciation: “You blessed the home, my brother. Your spirit, your meals, your preparation & your tidiness was incredible! God bless you, man.”

As for Sanders’ health moving forward, fans and supporters won’t have to wait long for updates. A press conference is scheduled for Monday, July 28, where he will join his team and representatives from the University of Colorado to share the latest on his health status. It’s a moment we’re all eagerly anticipating, especially considering the significant challenges Sanders has faced. His resilience and the support he’s received are testaments to the strength he embodies, both on and off the field.
