What are the biggest diferences? First off, it’s clear Chase was a better athlete, but that’s not a knock on Royals because Chase is one of the greatest talents and athletes at his compact size that we’ve ever seen.

Chase’s Vertical and Broad Jump both cleared what Royals did, as well as the bench press. Chase was also far stronger than Royals coming out of college, which is a huge part of Chase being a Top-5 selection.

Despite these differences, all these testing numbers were very similar, and that’s before we even get to the film.

When you look at Royals, the most striking similarities in their games are the success that Royals has in turning short screens into massive gains. His broken tackle rate was also very similar to Ja’Marr’s as he forced 17 missed tackles on 55 receptions to Ja’marr’s 22 on 80 receptions.

Jalen Royals Draft Projection
