Now, it seems the Manziel family name is in the news once again, this time due to an arrest involving Johnny’s mother, Michelle.
According to a TMZ report, Michelle Manziel was arrested on Saturday, March 1, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Kerrville, Texas.
Details surrounding the arrest remain scarce, but reports indicate that she was released after posting a $7,500 bond.
Johnny Manziel, who grew up in Kerrville and played for Kerrville Tivy High School before his rise to fame at Texas A&M, has long been a central figure in the town.
The Manziels still reside in Kerrville, and the local school district, Kerrville ISD, has even discussed the possibility of erecting a statue in honor of “Johnny Football” to commemorate his legacy.

Johnny himself was notorious for his partying lifestyle, which led to legal troubles, including an arrest in 2012.
His struggles continued after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns, with a series of personal issues overshadowing his promising football career.

“I was 210 lbs. when I left Cleveland, I was 170 lbs. sitting in Vegas that August, September, October,” Manziel said. “How do you lose 40 lbs.? You’re on a strict diet of blow,” he confessed.
While Johnny’s past remains complicated, he has made efforts in recent years to rebuild his life and seems to be doing a great job thus far.
However, his family’s name has been thrust back into the spotlight for unfortunate reasons due to his mother’s arrest.
