Jaxx DeJean’s name is quickly rising in the football world, and for good reason.
The younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie phenom Cooper DeJean, Jaxx is already one of the most sought-after recruits in the class of 2027.
A five-star prospect, DeJean is ranked No. 29 nationally, the No. 4 athlete, and the top player in Iowa, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
His recruitment took an interesting step forward this week when Michigan officially extended him an offer.
DeJean announced the news on social media, expressing his excitement about the Wolverines’ offer.
“After a great talk with @Coach_Casula I am extremely excited to announce that I have received an offer from @UMichFootball @Jack_Dunaway96,” Jaxx posted on X.
The Michigan offer adds to an already growing list of suitors, which includes Iowa, Kansas State, and UAB.
With two more years of high school football left, his recruitment is only beginning to take shape.
While Michigan is now in the mix, the battle for DeJean’s commitment could be an uphill climb. As expected, Iowa remains a strong contender, given his family ties.
Older brother Cooper was a star for the Hawkeyes before making his way to the NFL where he not only won the Super Bowl with the Eagles but also graded out as the top-ranked cornerback in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
However, Jaxx may be looking to carve out his own path.
“DeJean watched his brother Cooper shine in Iowa City and the Hawkeyes staff wants to run it back,” Steve Wiltfong of On3 said. “They’re one of the programs on him the hardest along with Kansas State.”
Despite still having two full high school seasons ahead of him, DeJean has already drawn heavy interest.
When the 2027 recruiting cycle fully takes off, he will likely have his pick of top programs.
For now, Iowa and Kansas State appear to be the most aggressive in their pursuit, but Michigan’s recent offer signals that the Wolverines are looking to ramp up their efforts.
If Jaxx DeJean develops anything like his older brother, his college career could be something special.
What are your thoughts on Jaxx? … When decision day finally comes, can you see him picking Michigan over Iowa???
