The Tennessee Titans find themselves in a pivotal position as they hold the No. 1 overall pick for the 2025 NFL Draft. With that top spot, the spotlight is firmly fixed on their decision, yet a clear consensus choice hasn’t surfaced just yet.
According to a recent mock draft from Athlon Sports by Luke Easterling, Penn State’s EDGE Abdul Carter was the Titans’ pick. Interestingly, Carter wasn’t the first quarterback to be nabbed. That honor went to Miami’s Cam Ward, who was taken third overall by the New York Giants.
But if Tennessee opts for an offensive shake-up and makes a move for Sanders in the first round, it seems the young quarterback is more than ready to embrace the challenge. In a chat with Jim Wyatt from the Titans, Sanders shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I’d love it. I would be thankful.”
Titans head coach Brian Callahan had quite a favorable encounter with the 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback. “You can tell he’s been raised right,” Callahan commented. “He’s mature, he has a really poised way about him, and he seems like a really good kid.”
Callahan further praised Sanders, noting the young quarterback’s grace under pressure. “I enjoyed talking to him. And, you could tell he’s a guy who has been in the spotlight. He knows how to handle himself, he’s been paid money, so he has a financial perspective. … It was a really good first impression.”
Sanders had a standout 2024 season, finishing with an impressive 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. His performance helped the Buffaloes close their campaign with a strong 9-4 record.
The Titans, meanwhile, have been riding the arm of 25-year-old quarterback Will Levis through the 2024 season. Over his two seasons in Tennessee, Levis has accumulated a 5-16 record. His stats from last year reflect a solid yet inconsistent showing, with 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Bringing in Sanders, or any fresh quarterback, could indicate a shift for the Titans, signaling potential changes ahead for Levis and the team’s offensive direction.
