Fans Angry Over Controversial College GameDay Decision

ESPN’s ultra-popular college football pregame show, College GameDay, is drawing criticism following the announcement of its next destination.

The show, hosted by Rece Davis and featuring analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, Nick Saban, and Desmond Howard, will broadcast from Columbus, Ohio, where the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes are set to host the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers in a marquee Big Ten matchup.

The Buckeyes and Hoosiers will face off at The Horseshoe with kickoff scheduled for noon ET. Announcing the decision, College GameDay shared on X: “We’re headed back to The Shoe. See you soon for Indiana-Ohio State.”

In fairness, you can’t blame ESPN or the College GameDay crew for this decision. After all, the eyes of the college football world will be on Columbus and the matchup is indeed the best of the entire Week 13 slate.

So, why are fans angry then???

Well, simply put, there are many fans who #1. are sick and tired of Ohio State, and #2. don’t believe Indiana is for real.

Again, while there are other attractive matchups on Saturday, GameDay setting up shop in Columbus is the right call – But there are many who don’t want to hear that…

“It’s so disappointing you continue to recycle teams. What do you think you’re gonna get that you haven’t the past 23 times?!? Should’ve gone for ASU BYU.”

“3 Ohio state games. Boring.”

“Remember when gameday went to good places?”

“Why??”

“Noon games suck.”

“Will definitely be tuned into SEC NATION! Three College Game Days for the Buckeyes is overkill..”

“Could’ve gone to Tempe for ASU vs BYU. Better game by far.”

Besides College GameDay, FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff will also be broadcasting live from Columbus.

As a matter of fact, FOX is the network that will air the actual game. Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt are sure to bring in one of the highest ratings of the entire season – again, speaking to the enormity and overall attraction of the matchup.

Speaking of the matchup, do you give Indiana ANY shot at knocking off the Buckeyes???
