Los Angeles Rams backup quarterback Stetson Bennett raised plenty of eyebrows when he was spotted wearing Alabama Crimson Tide gear head-to-toe.
The two-time national champion quarterback is one of the greatest players in the prestigious history of Georgia football.
The sight of him wearing gear of the Bulldogs’ hated rivals certainly didn’t sit well with those in Georgia.
As you probably assume, Bennett lost a bet on last Saturday’s epic Georgia-Alabama showdown.
Bennett had a friendly wager with former Alabama tight end Miller Forristall. The loser had to suffer through the humiliation of sporting their rivals’ gear.
Unfortunately for Bennett, the Dawgs fell short in heartbreaking fashion in what was one of the best college football games in recent memory.
Just when it looked like Carson Beck and company were about to pull off a historic comeback, Jalen Milore and the Tide answered back in crushing fashion.
Forristall, reveling in the 41-34 victory, took to X, sharing the photo of Bennett with a playful caption, âStetson loves the TIDE.â
The game itself was an all-time classic, with Alabama surrendering a massive 28-0 lead, almost paving the way for an unforgettable Georgia comeback.
With just over two minutes remaining, Georgia had clawed its way to a 34-33 lead. But Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe sealed the win with a stunning 75-yard touchdown pass to 17-year-old Ryan Williams (are you sick of hearing his age yet???)
Despite the bitter loss for Bennett, he honored the wager, proving that while his love for competition runs deep, he knows how to take a loss like a man.
Bennett, currently the third-string quarterback for the Rams, has been focused on regaining his form after a challenging 2023 season spent largely away from the team.
He has the luxury of being in one of the best quarterback rooms in the NFL, featuring future Hall of Famer Matthew Stafford and respected veteran Jimmy Garoppolo.
âLove football, excited to come out here every single day,â Bennett said during the Ramsâ OTAs in May. âYou get to see the world for the first time without football, like the first time ever. What that might be like, you just donât have it. You come out here and youâre hungry every single day ⊠It was different without it.â
Bennettâs competitive spirit that fueled his success at Georgia is now driving him to develop under the Rams’ system.
While he may have lost the bet this time around, Bennett’s past contributions to Georgiaâs program will never be overlooked.
