In a statement released by the Seamen organization, they expressed their enthusiasm about Gruden’s appointment.
“We’re excited to announce that American football legend, Jon Gruden, will work with us as advisor. Gruden won in 2002 Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. Gruden will help us to improve our organization in every aspect. He already started to work with our coaching staff,” the Seamen tweeted on X.

The move marks Gruden’s first official position in football since his resignation as the Raiders head coach in 2021.
His departure came following the leaking of private emails he sent which contained controversial language.

Expressing regret and remorse over his past actions, Gruden described the content of the emails as “shameful” and made no excuses for his choice of words.
Despite the controversy, Gruden has been vocal about seeking redemption.
“I am a good person. I believe that,” he said. “I go to church. I’ve been married for 31 years. I’ve got three great boys. I still love football … I just ask for forgiveness and, hopefully, I get another shot.”
Jon Gruden spoke publicly for the first time since his email scandal.

In late 2021, Gruden filed a lawsuit against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, alleging that the league leaked the emails to force him out of his position with the Raiders.
Gruden is considered one of the best coaches of this generation and famously won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2002.
