Free agent running back Leonard Fournette had a narrow escape this week when his SUV caught fire while he was driving along a highway.
Fortunately, Fournette was able to pull over and exit the burning vehicle, avoiding serious injury or worse.
A video detailing the incident was posted to Fournette’s Instagram account, revealing the extent of the damage and highlighting the potentially catastrophic outcome that was averted.
Reflecting on the incident, Fournette expressed gratitude for his safety in an Instagram post, stating, “Man it was one of those days today, but I would like thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I am still blessed.”

Fournette, who last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, played a pivotal role in helping the team secure a Super Bowl victory in 2020.
The former LSU running back was originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 but was waived by the team after three years. Following his departure from Jacksonville, Fournette signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers.
In 2021, the 28-year-old running back inked a one-year extension with the Buccaneers. He was released after recording 668 rushing yards and 523 receiving yards during his tenure with the Buccaneers.
Currently a free agent, Fournette is in search of a new team.
