Ugly Incident Resurfaces From Heisman Contender’s Past

The University of Southern California and their star quarterback, Miller Moss, have responded to a recently surfaced conduct issue reported by TMZ.

The incident, which dates back over two years, has resurfaced just days after Moss’s standout performance in a 27-20 victory over LSU at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Moss, who threw for 378 yards and one touchdown, is already generating buzz for a Heisman Trophy run this season.

TMZ broke the news of an alleged dispute involving Moss and a former roommate during the spring of 2022. The situation, described as a “feud,” reportedly led to a student conduct investigation by the university.

USC stated that they handle all student conduct issues with seriousness and confidentiality.

“We take all student conduct complaints seriously and are legally obligated to keep those matters private and confidential,” the university said in a statement. “Each and every case follows a prescribed and thorough adjudication process as described in the USC Student Handbook.

“If a student has been found responsible and has fulfilled all of the terms of their discipline, the matter is considered closed. In this case, the matter was resolved and settled two-and-a-half years ago.”

Miller Moss also addressed the situation, expressing his desire to put the incident behind him and focus on the current season.

“Two and a half years ago, the University conducted an investigation related to a personal dispute between me and a roommate,” Moss said. “I fully cooperated and took accountability for my decisions, and the matter was resolved. I regret my actions and have grown and learned from this matter, and my focus is on the season ahead.”

“Both the university and Miller released statements,” head coach Lincoln Riley said of the situation. “Something that’s been settled a long, long time ago.

“Very, we’ll call it interesting, the timing. That’s a high quality individual there. That’s one guy you’ve got to be careful about going after, because the character of him, everything that he does is as high as anybody that I’ve ever had.”

Moss, now a junior, had one of the most impressive performances in Week 1.

With the departure of Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, Moss has stepped into the spotlight and is hoping to accomplish big things for Riley’s Trojans.

USC is set to face Utah State in their Week 2 matchup, marking their first home game of the season at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

With momentum on their side, USC aims to continue their rise in the rankings after jumping 10 spots in the latest AP top-25 poll where they now sit at #13.

What are your thoughts on the resurfaced situation? (By all accounts, it just seems like dumb college stuff as Moss alluded to.)

As far as actual football is concerned, what are your thoughts on Moss as a quarterback? … Does he have a legitimate chance to win the Heisman???
