The NBA is set to ramp up its presence in Europe, announcing plans for at least six regular-season games over the next three seasons. Kicking things off this season are the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic, who will face off in Berlin on January 15 before heading to London for a showdown on January 18.

This initiative will see future games played in Manchester and Paris during the 2026-27 season, with a return to Berlin and Paris in the following season. A range of iconic venues will host the games, including Berlin’s Uber Arena, London’s The O2, Manchester’s Co-op Live, and the Accor Arena in Paris.

George Aivazoglou, the NBA’s managing director for Europe and the Middle East, expressed optimism about these developments. “Announcing the next three seasons’ regular-season games in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite for NBA basketball in France, Germany, the UK and across the region,” he said. The enthusiasm surrounding these games promises to engage local communities, fans, and players alike, enhancing the global reach of the NBA.

This upcoming match in Berlin will hold historical significance, marking the league’s 14th appearance in Germany since 1984—yet it’s the first time a regular-season game will be hosted there. It also presents a special moment for Magic players Franz and Moritz Wagner, who will return to their home country as they represent Germany’s national team.

Meanwhile, the London game this season will be notable as the 10th regular-season contest in that bustling city. It’s worth mentioning that Manchester has yet to welcome an NBA regular-season game, while Paris has previously hosted five, including a pair of matchups last season featuring the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs. The latter made perfect sense, especially with French sensation Victor Wembanyama on the Spurs roster, drawing local fans to the excitement of the game.

As we look ahead, keep an eye out for the complete NBA schedule for the 2025-26 season, expected to drop in mid-August. While the participating teams and specific dates for the games in 2027 and 2028 remain under wraps for now, anticipation is building for what promises to be an exhilarating expansion of NBA action in Europe.
