The Missouri Tigers have made a significant splash in the transfer portal, landing prized quarterback Beau Pribula from Penn State.

The move positions the Tigers to bolster their roster with one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the portal.

Ranked No. 4 among top transfer quarterbacks by 247Sports, Pribula’s decision to join Mizzou came as a surprise to many.

His transfer was finalized just before Penn Stateā€™s College Football Playoff opener against SMU.

Penn State head coach James Franklin acknowledged the challenging circumstances that led to Pribulaā€™s departure.

ā€œI can give you my word: Beau Pribula did not want to leave our program, and he did not want to leave our program until the end of the season,ā€ Franklin said.

ā€œBut the way the portal is, and the timing of it and the way our team is playing, and when you play the position of quarterback and thereā€™s only one spot, and those spots are filling up, he felt like he was put in a no-win situation. And I agree with him.ā€

Pribulaā€™s dual-threat capabilities made him a versatile asset for the Nittany Lions, even though he never fully claimed the starting quarterback role.

Sharing snaps with primary quarterback Drew Allar, he managed to leave his mark, scoring 10 rushing touchdowns and throwing for nine more during his tenure.

His limited appearances this season showcased his efficiency, completing 11 of 13 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in a victory over Wisconsin, while adding 28 rushing yards.

The move to Missouri comes at a pivotal time for the Tigers, who are preparing for life after Brady Cook.

Cook, the teamā€™s starting quarterback, wrapped up his senior season this year, leaving a void in the offense.

Pribula had visited Iowa, Central Florida, and Ole Miss during his portal search and had planned a trip to Indiana, which was canceled after his commitment to Missouri.

Ironically, the Tigers, who finished the regular season 9-3, will close out the year against Iowa in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.

With Pribula joining head coach Eliah Drinkwitzā€™s program, Missouri is setting the stage for a promising future.
