Sean Casey Urges One Major Club To Go All-Out For “Grand Slam” Juan Soto

Sean Casey had a long and successful career in the Major Leagues and was always known as a dependable player and respected voice in the clubhouse.

He had a short stint as Yankees batting coach this past season. While Aaron Boone and the Bombers wished for him to return to the role, he politely declined.

He hosts a popular podcast, titled “The Mayor’s Office” where he isn’t afraid to speak his mind and attack any subject.

On a recent episode, Casey shared his thoughts on the Yankees potentially acquiring Padres star outfielder Juan Soto.

Casey expressed his belief that the Yankees could greatly benefit from adding a player of Soto’s caliber to their lineup.

“The Yankees need a big, star left-handed bat,” he emphasized. “For me, a guy like Soto, who’s, what is he, 24 years old, 25 years old? This would be the guy for me.”

“I look at what they have, and you see Judge and Cole, you know, the window probably the next six years. It would make that lineup so much longer if you get a star left-handed bat.”

“So for me, when I look at it, man, it would be such a grand slam for them to get a guy like Juan Soto.”

The absence of a consistent left-handed presence in the Yankees lineup, especially considering Anthony Rizzo’s struggles and injury history, has intensified the need for a player like Soto.

Do you think the Yankees should go after Soto?

It looks to be the most important offseason in 30 years for Brian Cashman and company … What do the Bombers need to do to get back on track???
