RUMOR: World Series Contender Could Be Perfect Landing Spot For Once-Dominant Luis Severino

In the wake of a nightmare 2023 season for the New York Yankees, right-handed pitcher Luis Severino is now set to explore the free agent market.

Turning 30 before the upcoming season, Severino finds himself grappling with a lukewarm reception from potential suitors.

One thing that’s becoming more and more clear is that his days in pinstripes are most likely over.

Amidst the uncertainty of his future, Jake Mastroianni of Braves Today has proposed a potential landing spot for the former All-Star – the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves are in need of pitching and will be seeking capable arms to strengthen both their rotation and bullpen.

Severino, a two-time All-Star who has had strong stretches during his career, has most recently endured a tumultuous journey marked by injuries and inconsistent outings.

Although that might be putting it lightly … His 2023 season was a total disaster. In his own words, he referred to himself as “the worst pitcher” in all of baseball.

He finished the season with a 4-8 record and a 6.65 ERA – although those stats are quite deceiving. He pitched much worse than those numbers would indicate.

Severino has made it clear that his desire is to remain with the Yankees.

Perhaps something will be worked out in the Bronx – but that remains unlikely.

Landing on a contending team such as the Braves might be the best Severino could hope for.

Severino was once a Cy Young contender before falling off a cliff.

Will he ever be able to regain his once-dominant form?

Should the Braves go after him???
