In the wake of Gavin Lux’s unfortunate injury setbacks, the Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring a new shortstop for the 2024 season.
While Lux’s recovery progress has been promising, recent reports suggest that the Dodgers are keeping a close eye on the trade market.
One name that has been mentioned as a potential target is Toronto’s Bo Bichette.
Juan Toribio of MLB.com has reported that the Dodgers are actively monitoring the availability of Bichette (and Milwaukee’s Willy Adames) in the trade market.
Lux, originally slated to be the Dodgers starting shortstop last season, suffered a series of injuries during spring training, altering the team’s plans for the position.

Bichette is a two-time all-star and undoubtedly an intriguing name for any team to hear.
However, the feasibility of such a trade remains uncertain, as it is unknown whether the Blue Jays would be willing to part with him.
As a matter of fact, most Toronto people think there’s little to no chance that the Jays would part with him.
Rumor has it the Dodgers are expected to pursue Bo Bichette in a trade this offseason. It's completely ridiculous to think the #BlueJays would trade him now.

However, if the rumor is true, it’s a good job by the Dodgers to at least explore their options.
Bichette has two years left on his contract with the Blue Jays … Given their aspirations to contend, it remains uncertain whether they would entertain the idea of parting ways with one of their best players.
The Dodgers, whose primary focus this offseason seems to be on starting pitching and a potential pursuit of Shohei Ohtani in free agency, are nonetheless keeping shortstop in mind.
What do you make of the rumor?
Should the Dodgers pursue a trade for Bichette? … (Should the Jays even pick up the phone?)
Looking at the big picture, what do the Dodgers need to do this offseason?
Will they be able to land Ohtani???
