REPORT: Fired-David Ross May Soon Be Taking Over World Series Contender

The Chicago Cubs threw a major curveball at the baseball world when they decided to fire David Ross and hire Craig Counsell.

Ross is now left searching for a new job … And according to reports, he may not be searching long.

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Padres have reportedly set their sights on potentially bringing Ross aboard.

This development comes as the Padres initially focused on internal candidates Mike Shildt and Ryan Flaherty, while also considering external options such as Carlos Mendoza and Benji Gil.

(Mendoza has since joined the New York Mets.)

During his four-year tenure with the Cubs, Ross guided the team to a record of 262-284, with their most notable achievement being a playoff berth during his inaugural season in 2020.

What should the Padres do?

Would Ross be a good fit in San Diego???
