REACTION: The Baseball World Ruthlessly Destroys The Mets For Their Hideous New Uniforms … Are These The Worst You’ve EVER Seen??

It’s been a frustrating several months if you’re a fan of the New York Mets.

Not only were the Mets the most disappointing team in all of baseball last season, but owner Steve Cohen effectively took a step back and it seems like in many ways the Amazin’s are punting on the season.

To be fair, the team is off to a better start than most people expected, but it’s clear that baseball most likely won’t be played in Queens come October.

Not to keep picking on the Mets, but the vibes around the club got much worse when the organization pulled back the curtain on their highly-anticipated “City Connect” uniforms.

The team introduced the dark gray uniforms which are adorned with the emblematic “NYC” emblazoned across the chest, accompanied by a purple Nike logo on the right shoulder.

The unveiling took place through a carefully crafted hype video on social media, drawing immediate attention and sparking a flurry of opinions, most of which were negative.

The color scheme and unconventional design elements are a nod to the franchise’s storied past.

The Mets incorporated pinstripes into their alternate uniforms. Yet, instead of traditional straight lines, these pinstripes took on an avant-garde twist, resembling circles and diamonds.

This unique choice was revealed to be a homage to the city’s bustling subway system, adding a layer of depth to the design.

One feature that did manage to garner some praise was the intricate stitching of the Queensboro Bridge on the team’s cap, a subtle yet poignant nod to the borough of Queens, where the Mets call home.

Mets Chief Marketing Officer, Andy Goldberg, shed light on the inspiration behind the City Connect uniforms in an official statement.

“The true essence of what City Connect means is connecting to the city,” Goldberg remarked. “And part of how we did that was through the connections Mets fans have throughout the city. The elements of the jersey tie into the whole connection idea, if you will.”

Goldberg went on to emphasize that the City Connect uniforms encapsulate “the true essence of New York.”

However, despite the team’s efforts to capture the spirit of the city, reactions on social media have been less than enthusiastic to say the least.

The City Connect uniforms are set to make their debut on April 27th, when the Mets take on the St. Louis Cardinals at Citi Field.

Conveniently, the game will be broadcasted nationally on FOX, which will help maximize exposure. (Although, it seems like that may not be a good thing.)

What are your thoughts on the new uniforms?

Did the Mets screw this whole thing up?

More importantly, what are the single-worst uniforms you’ve EVER seen???
