Captain Jack Kennedy stated that the circumstances surrounding her death appear to be non-criminal at this time. He described the investigative process, noting that if no evidence of a criminal act is found, the Violent Crimes Unit will collaborate with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences while supporting the family.
