MLB Insider Claims This Legendary Manager Nearing Surprise Retirement

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker, who has steered the team through a World Series championship in 2021, is reportedly considering retirement after the 2025 season, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.

Despite his long tenure with the Braves, including a historic World Series run just a few seasons ago, Snitker is reportedly contemplating stepping away from the game.

The Braves’ 2024 season has not unfolded as hoped.

Currently, they are fighting for their playoff lives. While they are more than capable of going on another title run, the path has been much bumpier than expected this season.

“I do believe there is a decent chance that (Snitker) will manage out his contract next year and retire after next year,” Heyman of the New York Post reported.

“That’s just me talking. I think there’s a chance of it … He’s close to 70, and I do think that he will retire, there’s a good chance that he will retire after next year.

“Don’t know that for sure, but that’s the vibe that I’m getting, not necessarily from him, but just all around baseball. He’s not getting fired, though. They’re not firing Brian Snitker,” Heyman added.

In an effort to salvage their season, the Braves acquired Jorge Soler, the World Series MVP from their 2021 championship run.

This move briefly sparked a winning streak, but the team has struggled to maintain their momentum.

Again, the Braves are certainly talented enough to ramp up the speed as we head towards the stretch run of the season – but the clock is ticking.

What are your thoughts on Heyman’s report?

Do you think Snitker will indeed retire after the 2025 season?

As for this season, do you expect the Braves to make noise come October? … Or is this just not their year???
