Miami Player in Fatal Car Crash – Tragically Including Children

Miami linebacker Adarius Hayes is at the center of a tragic situation following a car crash in Largo, Florida, that resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two young children. According to local law enforcement, the accident involved Hayes’ Dodge Durango and a Kia Soul.

The crash occurred on Saturday afternoon when the Kia was making a left turn and collided with Hayes’ vehicle. Tragically, the driver of the Kia, a 78-year-old woman, died as a result of the incident. Two children, 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria, were also passengers in the Kia and did not survive.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials have indicated that alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in the collision. Police responded to the scene around 1:45 p.m. ET, and while no tickets or charges have been filed as of now, the investigation remains active.

Hayes sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, another passenger from the Kia is reported to be hospitalized with serious injuries. Largo Police public information officer Megan Santo has stated that no further details will be available until the investigation progresses.

In the wake of this tragic event, several of Hayes’ teammates from the University of Miami have taken to social media, offering prayers and support for him during this difficult time.

As a freshman in 2024, Hayes participated in 12 games for the Hurricanes, primarily contributing on special teams. He wrapped up the season with four tackles and made a notable interception that he returned 25 yards during a blowout victory against Florida A&M.

Largo, where this incident took place, is situated about 20 miles east of Tampa and roughly 15 miles north of St. Petersburg along Florida’s Gulf Coast, highlighting the community aspect of this tragic event.
