Carson Beck, the Georgia Bulldogs’ quarterback, has declared his intention to return for his senior season in 2024 after leading the team to a stellar 12-1 record in his debut season as a starter.
Beck stepped into the spotlight as one of the most efficient passers in the FBS, taking over from Stetson Bennett, who had previously guided the Bulldogs to consecutive CFP National Championships in 2021 and 2022. Beck’s impressive statistics for the past season include a 72.4% completion rate, 3,738 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.
In a statement shared on Georgia football’s X account, Beck expressed his gratitude to friends and family for helping shape his future options. He acknowledged that while the NFL is undoubtedly in his future, he has decided to delay that journey by one more year to return to UGA for his senior season. Beck emphasized the importance of collective support as the Bulldogs prepare to face Florida State in the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 30.
Beck’s commitment to Georgia comes in the wake of the transfer announcement from his backup, Brock Vandagriff, a former four-star recruit who is now headed to Kentucky. Additionally, redshirt freshman Gunner Stockton, who attempted nine passes in the past season, is expected to return in 2024.
In recruiting news, Dylan Raiola, a highly regarded five-star recruit from Buford High School in Georgia, initially committed to the Bulldogs in May. However, he recently informed ESPN’s Pete Thamel of his decision to join Nebraska after visiting the school over the weekend. Raiola, ranked as the No. 1 pocket passer in the 2024 ESPN 300, brings considerable talent and potential to his new team.
Furthermore, Ryan Puglisi, a pocket passer from Avon, Connecticut, ranked No. 7 among pocket passers in the ESPN 300, has joined the Georgia Bulldogs and will participate in bowl practices, adding depth to the team’s quarterback position.
