Georgia Fans Furious Over Shocking Carson Beck Stance

Carson Beck hasn’t played a down for the Miami Hurricanes yet, but the senior quarterback is already making a major splash.

Since transferring from Georgia to Miami, Beck has impressed his new teammates with more than just his résumé.

His early impact off the field has drawn praise in Coral Gables, where his humility, leadership, and focus on building genuine relationships have already stood out.

But while Beck’s transition has gone smoothly so far, the expectations around him might be rising even faster than his popularity in the locker room.

In a bold statement, 247Sports college football analyst Brian Crawford floated a surprising prediction: Carson Beck could be a legitimate contender to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

“I think we see a rejuvenated Carson Beck at Miami,” Crawford confidently stated. “I think he’s better than what he showed last year at Georgia. A lot of that was Mike Bobo and that pro style offense that every quarterback hates to play in.”

Crawford pointed to Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson as a key reason for optimism.

“There’s a reason Carson Beck left, and I think Miami, we saw what Shannon Dawson was able to do last year with Cam Ward, I think Carson Beck is going to have a bounce back year.”

Crawford clarified that he’s not predicting Beck will definitely be the No. 1 overall pick in 2026 – just that he sees him as a worthy dark-horse candidate.

Still, the mention of Beck in the same breath as Texas’ Arch Manning, Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, Penn State’s Drew Allar, and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier raises eyebrows.

Not long ago, such a prediction wouldn’t have seemed so far-fetched. Beck entered the 2024 season as one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation, widely viewed as a likely top-five pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

But an uneven season – capped by an unfortunate elbow injury that required surgery – caused his stock to dip enormously.

If we’re being honest, many Georgia fans were ready to turn the page from the Carson Beck era in Athens.

Having said that, Beck’s decision to transfer to Miami rubbed some the wrong way.

Regardless, Crawford makes an interesting point. After all, we all know how talented Beck is and what his potential can be, especially in the right situation.

What do you think the ceiling is for Beck in Miami? … Do you view him as a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender – as well as a potential No. 1 overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft?

While we’re on the subject, how do you think Beck’s Georgia legacy should be viewed???
