Florida State Gives Heartbreaking Update On QB Jordan Travis … Will Noles Make The Playoff??

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis confirmed on Monday that he will miss the remainder of the season due to a lower left leg injury sustained during the game against North Alabama last Saturday.

In a statement posted on social media, Travis expressed gratitude for the support he has received since the injury.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support from my teammates, coaches, the Florida State community, and those all around the world. Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored and forever grateful,” he wrote.

“The journey this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, we’re all we need. Job’s not finished. Go Noles!”

Travis, who transferred to Florida State in 2019, had become the starting quarterback midway through the 2021 season, helping the team achieve a 16-game winning streak and securing a spot in the ACC championship game against Louisville on December 2nd.

His impact on the program goes beyond statistics, as he is the only player in school history ranked in the top 10 on both career passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns lists.

Knowing how much he means to the program made what happened on Saturday very hard to take…

Head coach Mike Norvell spoke about Travis’s legacy during a news conference, stating, “Jordan will be talked about forever in this program. It’s not necessarily going to be just about his playing ability. It’s going to be about who he is.”

With Travis sidelined, the Seminoles (11-0, 8-0 ACC) will face rival Florida this Saturday, with backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker taking over for Travis.

Rodemaker, who played a crucial role in a comeback victory last season when Travis was injured, has earned the confidence of both his teammates and Norvell.

As for the College Football Playoff, Norvell remains focused on his team’s performance, stating, “Thank God the opinions of others don’t dictate what our actions are going to be. This team, a year ago, nobody thought we were worth a crap. They proved them wrong.”

“Quarterback goes down. Oh, that must be it. That’s why we get to play the game. It’s why we get to go to work. It’s why we get to continue to push and build and go be all that I know that this team can be,” he added.

“I believe in them. And I believe if we can put that on display, then maybe a few more will believe in what they can do.”

You have to feel terrible for Travis.

Will his devastating injury end up costing Florida State a Playoff spot???
