We may soon be finally reaching an end to the Blake Snell free agency saga.
As the Los Angeles Angels continue their quest to break their playoff drought, star outfielder Mike Trout is leading the charge, urging management to bolster the roster, especially following the departure of Shohei Ohtani to the Dodgers.
Remarkably, Trout, often hailed as a generational superstar, has only reached the postseason once throughout his Hall of Fame career.
Feeling the urgency to change this narrative, Trout has reportedly pressed Angels management to aggressively improve the roster – and that’s where Snell comes in…

Multiple reports have indicated that the Angels may be nearing a deal for not just Snell, but designated hitter J.D. Martinez as well.
Snell, a two-time Cy Young winner, is clearly the best player still available on the market. It is believed that the Angels are the club he “prefers” to sign with.

Meanwhile, Martinez, despite being past his prime, showcased a resurgence at the plate last season.

Snell is a west coast native and has grown use to the California sunshine.
While the Angels may now be leading the race for Snell, the New York Yankees are reported to still be very much in the mix.
With concerns surrounding the health of Bombers ace Gerrit Cole, general manager Brian Cashman may finally push his chips to the middle of the table and snag Snell.
