Colorado’s head coach Deion Sanders is currently facing some health challenges that have kept him away from the office recently, as confirmed by sources. The 57-year-old coach has been at his Texas estate, dealing with what has been described as an “unspecified health issue” just as the school kicked off its annual summer football camps last week.

While the exact timeline for his return to Boulder remains unclear, updates from his family are positive. On Sunday, his eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., shared with fans via a YouTube livestream that his father is “feeling well.” He reassured viewers that Coach Prime would soon be open about his health situation, saying, “He’ll tell y’all soon enough what he’s going through, what he went through.” Deion Jr. intends to stay by his father’s side until he’s ready to return.

In light of his health concerns, Sanders has postponed public engagements, including a scheduled keynote speaking appearance on June 8 at the Sickle Cell Disease Research and Educational Symposium in Florida. The organization acknowledged the cancellation, expressing gratitude for his support and anticipation for future opportunities to collaborate with the charismatic coach.

This isn’t the first time Sanders has faced health issues. In 2022, he suffered a serious medical setback that required the amputation of two toes on his left foot due to blood clots originating from a prior surgery. Earlier this year, he underwent a procedure aimed at alleviating clots in both of his legs, which also caused him to miss Pac-12 media day.

In a podcast with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel, Sanders hinted at health issues in late May, though he chose not to delve into specific details at that time. The football community will be eagerly awaiting updates on his condition and hopeful for his return as he continues to navigate these personal challenges.
