Country music star Ingrid Andress made headlines following a widely criticized performance of the National Anthem at the Home Run Derby last week.

Despite her established career, Andress was not a household name for some. However, her faltering rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” has ignited a surge of public curiosity about her music.
The backlash from her performance has actually boosted interest in Andress’s work.
According to SoundCloud, plays of her music have surged by approximately 50 percent since the incident.
In a way, this doesn’t come as too big of a surprise. Having said that, it’s still quite interesting.
In addition, Andress’s social media following has seen a notable increase.
Before the event, she had about 335,000 followers on Instagram. By Friday, her follower count had risen to 348,000, signaling a significant uptick in public interest.
The 32-year-old Andress has a personal connection to Major League Baseball through her father, former strength and conditioning coach Brad Andress.
Soon after her brutal performance went viral, Andress admitted that she performed while drunk and issued a hearfelt apology.
“I’m not gonna bullsh*t y’all, I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun,” she posted on social media.
