Clemson Furious After Star QB Flips To Notre Dame

In a recruiting stunner, four-star quarterback Blake Hebert has flipped his commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-3 Hebert is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class.

Hailing from Brunswick High School in Greenwich, Connecticut, Hebert figured to be a significant part of Clemson’s future before he decided to flip to the Fighting Irish.

Ranked as the No. 29 quarterback in the 2025 class by 247Sports’ composite rankings, Hebert made the decision to commit to Notre Dame shortly after the Irish lost their own 2025 QB commit, Deuce Knight, who flipped to Auburn on October 2.

Before choosing Notre Dame, Hebert had garnered interest from several top programs, including Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Pittsburgh. His decision to join the Irish solidifies Notre Dame’s quarterback outlook for the future.

Hebert addressed his decision to decommit from Clemson on social media, thanking Dabo Swinney and the Tigers’ coaching staff.

“I’d like to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff as well as the program itself for all they have done for me. With that being said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and will spend my next 4 years at another institution. Romans 8:18”

Hebert’s junior season in 2023 was cut short after he fractured his ankle during his team’s season opener, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

According to 247Sports, Hebert has since fully recovered and has regained his old form.

Interestingly, Notre Dame has built quite a pipeline to Brunswick High School as they also have commitments from safety Ethan Long and offensive tackle Matty Augustine.

Hebert has been described as having the toughness and dual-threat ability of current Irish quarterback Riley Leonard, but with an even stronger arm.

While no one is confusing Hebert with Quinn Ewers just yet, Clemson fans have been understandably upset about his surprising change of heart.

Predictably, the Tigers faithful have made their voices heard loud and clear on social media…

“lol Clemson makes you priority and #1 on their board. ND loses their #1 and then comes after you. Good luck fighting off that transfer QB they bring in to take your job.”

“Get clemson out your bio respectfully.”

“Props to Dabo for not getting into NIL bidding wars. Good luck buddy.”

“All these decommits thank they have to post scripture to make it ok. What about keeping your word?? Next man up! Go Tigers”

“Good luck buddy. You just weren’t the right fit here, we need dawgs not lil pups. Sorry we pulled your offer.”

“What’s going on in Clemson ?”

“Bro wants to lose to Northern Illinois?? Weird.”

What are your thoughts on Hebert flipping from Clemson to Notre Dame?

Current Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik is having an outstanding junior season and has become one of the most underrated players in the entire country. Having said that, his days in orange won’t last forever.

Where should Dabo and the Tigers turn to now with their quarterback recruiting???
