Michigan fans are feeling a little better these days.
While the vast majority of Wolverine supporters know this coming Saturday could get quite ugly, they also know they can rest a little easier at night.
That’s because the program has successfully flipped the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class, quarterback Bryce Underwood.
Underwood, a standout from Belleville High School in Michigan, flipped his commitment from LSU to Michigan last Thursday, marking a pivotal moment for head coach Sherrone Moore and the entire program.
Just two days later, Underwood made a highly anticipated visit to Michigan Stadium to check out the Wolverines’ Big Ten clash against Northwestern.
The 17-year-old quarterback was greeted with enthusiasm before the game, making a notable appearance at the “HailGate” tailgate held at Ann Arbor Golf and Outing, right across from The Big House.
The event quickly turned into a frenzy, as fans surrounded Underwood for selfies and handshakes.
Underwood wasn’t just mingling with fans – he also reunited with Connor Stalions, Belleville’s offensive coordinator during their MHSAA playoff run.
Connor Stalions and his high school quarterback, who just so happens to be the No. 1 recruit in the country, hanging out at a Michigan tailgate. (Imagine reading that sentence a year ago?)
The excitement carried into the game itself, with Michigan securing its sixth win of the season to clinch bowl eligibility.
For Underwood, the timing couldn’t be better as he plans to enroll early, allowing him to participate in bowl practices and get a head start on his college career.
With Underwood’s commitment, the Wolverines are looking ahead with even greater optimism for the future of the program.
What are your thoughts on Stalions and Underwood hanging out before the game?
In the bigger picture, do you think Underwood will end up living up to the massive hype in Ann Arbor???
