Marvin Harrison Jr. Responds To Kyle McCord’s Departure From Ohio State

Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyle McCord, former high school teammates who later played together at Ohio State, are embarking on different paths in 2024. While Harrison Jr. may head to the NFL, McCord is transferring to a new school, leaving Ohio State.

Reflecting on Ohio State’s quarterback situation going forward, the standout wide receiver expressed his mixed feelings about McCord’s departure but also his excitement about the potential of Devin Brown and Lincoln Kienholz.

Harrison shared his optimism, stating, “I think they have a great opportunity to showcase what they can do, to show the whole world. They both have the arm talent, for sure. They can make all the throws and everything like that. It’s going to come down to making the right decisions in key moments. They have the athletic ability to really extend some plays. So Iā€™m super excited to see what they do in this bowl practice leading up to it and how they compete for that spot.”

While the starting quarterback position for Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl remains uncertain, Brown appears to be a strong contender. Additionally, the Buckeyes are exploring the possibility of bringing in a transfer quarterback to bolster their roster.
