REPORT: With Quinn Ewers Likely Staying At Texas, HERE Are Arch Manning’s Most Likely Destinations…

A few weeks ago, reports surfaced indicating that Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is strongly considering returning to Austin for another season.

Some brushed off the idea that Ewers would pass up on entering the NFL Draft this spring … However, more and more reports have come out indicating that this may indeed be the case.

This revelation has stirred up speculation about the potential transfer of former five-star quarterback Arch Manning … Various potential landing spots have begun to circulate within the college football world.

Scott Salomon of Mike Farrell Sports recently highlighted three possible destinations for Manning, suggesting Ohio State, Alabama, and Miami as potential options.

Salomon noted: “Potential landing places for Manning could include Ohio State, Alabama, or even Miami, who need a starting quarterback with Tyler Van Dyke entering the transfer portal and Emory Williams out until Spring with a compound fracture in his right arm.”

You can never discount Ohio State, especially with the news that current starter Kyle McCord has entered the transfer portal … Although there are rumors that Ryan Day has his eye on Washington State quarterback Cam Ward who is also entering the portal.

Regardless, former Buckeyes legend Maurice Clarett recently made a pitch for Manning to head north to Columbus.

Despite all the speculation, 247Sports college football analyst Chris Hummer poured cold water on the transfer rumors, stating: “Based on everything we’ve heard, Arch is perfectly happy at Texas. I think the expectation is he will be back in 2024.”

Hummer acknowledged the ongoing interest in Manning, emphasizing, “Obviously, Arch Manning is the name that looms above it all – everybody’s interested in Arch.”

Contrary to the transfer rumors surrounding Manning, Hummer believes that fellow Texas backup quarterback, Maalik Murphy, is more likely to consider transferring.

Of course, so much depends on Ewers’ upcoming decision…

“The real question mark in the room is what happens with Quinn Ewers,” Hummer said. “For right now, it feels likely that (Ewers) is back – which means Maalik Murphy might be on the move.”

Hummer raised the possibility that Murphy might not want to wait another season behind Ewers and potentially have to compete with Arch Manning for the starting quarterback position in 2025.

Do you think Ewers will be returning to Austin next season?

How much of his decision depends on how the Longhorns do in the playoffs?

Assuming he does indeed return, should Manning stay put and wait his turn, or look to transfer???
