Premier Insider Reveals Shocking Developments In Jordan Love’s Contract Battle With The Packers … Is He Truly A Franchise QB??

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a very impressive 2023 season.

While he is far from perfect and there are certainly some facets of his game he needs to improve on, the fact of the matter is the Packers believe they have struck gold with Love.

Other than that inexplicable Monday Night Football loss to Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants, Love played great down the stretch of the season and proved just how massive his upside really is.

As a matter of fact, Love not only destroyed the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the playoffs, but he also played well enough to beat the 49ers in San Francisco as well.

If a couple of bounces went Green Bay’s way, Love and the Packers could have very well been in position to pull off one of the most improbable Super Bowl runs we’ve ever seen.

You have to imagine it’s only a matter of time before the Packers sign Love to a long-term extension.

Love has had to wait and watch other quarterbacks around the league strike massive deals with their teams – the latest being Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Interestingly, instead of being jealous and/or frustrated, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Love should be excited and encouraged for what Lawrence’s deal means for him.

“The latest factor that influences the discussions (between Love and the Packers) is the deal that Trevor Lawrence gets done with the Jacksonville Jaguars,” Schefter told ESPN Milwaukee.

“That deal doesn’t help Green Bay, that deal helps Jordan Love. Because the average comes in at $55 million and, breaking news, I don’t believe Jordan Love is taking less than Trevor Lawrence, just don’t think he’s doing it.”

Lawrence’s new five-year deal is worth up to $275 million.

“If the (Love) deal had gotten done a few weeks ago, I could’ve seen that number being $52 million, $53 million, and now I see that number being north of $55 million … Not much north of, but north of $55 million,” Schefter added.

“And by the way, the way the deal is also structured and set up, is not favorable to the Green Bay Packers and what they were hoping to do.”

The quarterback market has been significantly reshaped in recent years, and Lawrence’s deal is the latest to reset the benchmark.

This shift is expected to influence not just Jordan Love but also other quarterbacks such as Dak Prescott and (potentially) Tua Tagovailoa.

While Love and Tagovailoa are likely to receive extensions from their respective teams, Prescott’s situation remains uncertain.

Despite his consistent regular season success, the Cowboys have yet to commit to a long-term deal with Dak.

What are your thoughts on Schefter’s comments?

Are you COMPLETELY sold on Love being the franchise quarterback of the Packers? … Or do you still need to see more out of him?

What type of contract do you think he is truly deserving of?

Does Love have a realistic chance to be BETTER than Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers???
