The New York Yankees made one of the biggest splashes of the entire offseason when they acquired All-Star slugger Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres.
With only one year remaining on his contract, Soto will surely be one of the biggest – if not the biggest – free agents come next year.
However, he has business to take care of in 2024, and he knows it.

Soto wants to make the most of this season in pinstripes.
Maybe he ends up signing a long-term deal to stay in the Bronx. But either way, he wants to help the Bombers win their first World Series since 2009 (a lifetime ago, isn’t it?!).

Soto made it clear that he wants general manager Brian Cashman to continue to bolster the roster.
One name who is surprisingly still available is two-time Cy Young award winning pitcher Blake Snell.

“It would be unbelievable to have two Cy Young winners going back-to-back, it’d be great,” Soto told the New York Post, referring to the potential combination of Snell and Gerrit Cole.
“[Snell’s] a great guy, a great player. Any help that we can get I would love,” Soto added.
Reflecting on their time together as teammates with the Padres, Soto highlighted Snell’s character and skill set, endorsing his potential contribution to a Yankees team so desperate to win the title.

It remains to be seen whether owner Hal Steinbrenner allows Cashman to sign Snell to the lucrative deal he’s looking for.
However, the Yankees have had continued conversations with Snell and his agent (the infamous) Scott Boras.
Sure, there can be a surprise team that pops up, but the Bombers are considered one of the favorites to land Snell.
However, the clock is ticking as we get closer and closer to opening day.

Will the Yankees end up signing Snell?
If not, where do you think he will end up?
What type of contract do you feel he’s deserving of?
As far as Soto, do you think he will be one-and-done in the Bronx? … Or will the two sides end up working out a long-term deal???
