New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is stepping into a pivotal role for Gang Green after the season-ending torn Achilles injury to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Despite a disappointing start to his career, Wilson is optimistic that the valuable lessons he learned from Rodgers will help him lead the Jets to success this season.
The 2021 #2 pick initially faced adversity when the Jets acquired Rodgers in the offseason, leading to Wilson’s demotion to the backup position. However, Rodgers’ unfortunate injury thrust Wilson back into the spotlight as the team’s starting quarterback.
“I feel like I’ve been trying to copy every little thing he’s doing, from his footwork to the coaching tips he has given us … He’s done an amazing job, more than we could ask for as quarterbacks.”

Good point by Jack…
I love how the message for Jordan Love was always “don’t try to be Aaron Rodgers, be Jordan Love” but for Zach Wilson it’s “copy literally everything Aaron does, it’s our only chance”

Wilson held down the fort following Rodgers’ early departure in the first quarter of Monday’s primetime showdown against the Buffalo Bills.
Having said that, Jets fans aren’t overly hopeful for Wilson due to his disappointing track record.
He’s 8-14 as a starter with 16 touchdowns and 19 interceptions, and so far has not shown the ability to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL.
But he’s getting another shot, and it’s coming much sooner than anyone ever expected.
How do you think Wilson will play this Sunday against the Cowboys in Dallas (ouch) as well as going forward.
Should general manager Joe Douglas try to bring in a veteran “win-now” quarterback, especially since the Jets have a good enough roster elsewhere to make a legitimate Super Bowl run?
We’ll finish with an obligatory Aaron Rodgers update…
