With Nebraska OUT, Surprising New Dark Horse Emerges For QB Kyle McCord … Did Matt Rhule Screw Him??

As the Ohio State Buckeyes gear up to face Missouri in the upcoming Cotton Bowl, (former) starting quarterback Kyle McCord is on the lookout for a new team to transfer to.

Despite Nebraska being initially considered, it seems McCord has eliminated the Cornhuskers from his list of potential suitors, likely due to the rumored flip of five-star Georgia commit Dylan Raiola.

Amidst the uncertainty, a surprising dark horse has emerged in the race for McCord’s services – Syracuse.

Tom Loy, a reputable source from 247Sports, hinted at the possibility of McCord donning the Orange jersey in the near future.

“I’m told to keep a very close eye on Syracuse and Kyle McCord,” Loy tweeted on X.

McCord’s departure from Ohio State followed Coach Ryan Day’s decision not to commit to him as the Buckeyes starting quarterback for the 2024 season.

McCord would be an immediate upgrade for the Syracuse Orange.

The recent appointment of Fran Brown as head coach adds an intriguing layer to the expected pursuit.

Brown, formerly the defensive backs coach at Georgia, became a prime candidate to replace Dino Babers, who was relieved of his duties in November.

Were you surprised when McCord entered the portal?

Do you think he entered with the intention (and possibly understanding) that he was going to transfer to Nebraska? … If so, did Matt Rhule call an audible as soon as he found out he could snag Raiola?

What do you think about him as a quarterback? … Was his strong performance this season inflated due to playing in Ryan Day’s system with all that talent?

Where do you think he will land? … Would he be a good fit at Syracuse???
