With Child Porn Charges Dropped, Ex-Florida QB Jalen Kitna Enters Portal

Former Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna has entered the transfer portal just days after the child pornography charges against him were dropped as part of a plea deal.

Kitna, who is the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, pleaded no contest to two counts of disorderly conduct in the agreement.

He has been placed on one year of probation, with the possibility of ending it in six months if he fulfills all the parole conditions.

The arrest of Kitna took place on November 30th last year by the Gainesville Police in Florida. He was charged with two counts of distributing child exploitation material and three counts of possessing child pornography.

The police investigation revealed that Kitna had shared two images of young girls being sexually abused through social media. Additionally, three more explicit images of two nude young girls in a shower were discovered on his phone.

During his court appearance, Kitna expressed remorse and offered an apology to “my family, friends, and the people that care about me.”

Kitna, a redshirt sophomore and former highly-rated prospect from Texas, had been serving as the backup quarterback for the University of Florida. However, following the incident, the university immediately dismissed him from the team.

Last season, Kitna had the opportunity to play in four games, during which he completed 10 of 14 passes for 181 yards and scored a touchdown. However, due to the disturbing developments, his football career with the Gators came to a sudden end.
