WHO IS THIS NFL LEGEND???

Okay, maybe he’s not an “NFL legend” – but he surely is a legend in the overall football world.

Of course, we’re talking about 2-time Pro Bowler and sports media icon, Pat McAfee!

McAfee is a former Colts punter and current sports media personality (rockstar).

Born on May 2, 1987, in Plum, Pennsylvania, McAfee gained prominence during his strong, yet short NFL career.

He attended Plum High School, where he excelled in multiple sports, including football and soccer. He continued his football career at West Virginia University, where he played as a punter.

McAfee had an impressive college career, earning All-American honors and setting several records, including the record for the longest field goal in the school’s history.

In the 2009 NFL Draft, McAfee was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round. He quickly established himself as one of the league’s top punters, known for his powerful leg and ability to pin opponents deep in their own territory.

McAfee spent his entire eight-year NFL career (2009-2016) with the Colts and earned two Pro Bowl selections.

Aside from his punting skills, McAfee was known for his charismatic personality, sense of humor, and engaging presence. He often entertained fans with his on-field celebrations and off-field antics, which helped him gain a large following and become a fan favorite.

After retiring from the NFL in 2017, McAfee transitioned into a career in media. He launched “The Pat McAfee Show,” a sports podcast and radio show known for its mix of sports analysis, comedy, and interviews with notable athletes and celebrities.

The show gained popularity and expanded to include a YouTube channel and live-streamed segments.. This fall, he will take the show to ESPN.

McAfee’s media ventures continued to flourish, and he became a prominent figure in the sports media landscape. He joined ESPN as a college football analyst and appeared on various television shows, including “Get Up!” and “College GameDay” (ultimately as a full-time co-host).

Beyond his media career, McAfee has been involved in philanthropy and charity work. He founded the Pat McAfee Foundation, which supports the children of military personnel, and has organized various fundraising events.

Throughout his career, McAfee has been recognized for his contributions to the sport and media industry. He has won several awards, including the NFL’s Golden Toe Award and the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Chris Greicius Celebrity Award.

Overall, McAfee’s journey from an NFL punter to a successful media personality showcases his talent, charisma, and ability to connect with fans both on and off the field.
