WATCH: Stephen A. Smith Gives Brutally Honest Take On Why Dak Prescott Gets More Criticized Than Josh Allen

Most people put Josh Allen and Dak Prescott in different tiers when it comes to quarterback play.

Buffalo’s Allen, despite being too much of a reckless gunslinger at times, is often put in the top tier of quarterbacks … Meanwhile Dallas’ Prescott is usually seen as a “B-tier” QB.

Most won’t argue that Allen is the more talented of the two. However, with the amount of mistakes he’s been making lately, many wonder why he doesn’t get as criticized as someone like Prescott does.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has a theory on why this might be…

“Who says that Josh Allen isn’t being criticized as much as Dak Prescott? … You want to know what the difference is? Here’s the difference. No one cares!” Smith said.

Smith continued to explain his perspective, emphasizing the lack of attention on Allen in the media compared to Prescott and the Cowboys, who are widely-looked upon as the most popular team in the league.

“If you talk about Dak, it provokes dialogue. If you talk about Josh Allen, okay. It’s Bills Mafia. Outside of that, that’s it … Even the Cowboys get lost in all this. Micah Parsons, ‘Give him the same energy.’ Stop! We have given him the same energy. No one cared!” Smith added.

“So, we move on! That’s what the Dallas Cowboys have got to accept. Stop whining and moaning all the damn time! They’re talking about you because you’re popular.”

Not that the Bills aren’t popular – but they certainly aren’t as popular as the Dallas Cowboys, aka “America’s Team.”

The quarterback of the Cowboys is as marquee as it gets. With all the attention comes the good, the bad, and certainly the ugly.

The Cowboys, and especially the quarterback of the Cowboys, is going to get more attention (both good and bad) than the quarterback of the small-market Buffalo Bills … That’s just the way it is.

How do you compare Allen and Prescott?

I think most of us agree that Allen is the better overall quarterback … But is he not getting enough heat for his play?

He had a strong performance against the Jets yesterday – but will he ever be able to CONSISTENTLY play at a high, mistake-free level???
