Marvin Harrison Jr. is thought by some to be the single best player in the upcoming NFL Draft.
While his sky-high draft stock has cooled down just a tad compared to where it once was, most analysts think it’s virtually a foregone conclusion that Harrison will be a star in the league.
With the draft next week, I asked C.J. Stroud to put his general manager hat on and make the argument for Marvin Harrison Jr. as WR1:

The general consensus is that Harrison could be drafted as high as #3 to the New England Patriots or as low as #9 to the Chicago Bears.
You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks he will fall past nine.
Did I miss something?? Why are people talking about Marvin Harrison Jr and Chicago? 👀 pic.twitter.com/Bo7hbURlP7

But how about Harrison himself? In a perfect world, who does he want to draft him???
Well, an old clip has re-emerged and Harrison’s answer to that very question is an interesting one…
While attending Big Ten Media Day back in his Ohio State days, Harrison made it clear that his preference was to be drafted by the Indianapolis Colts…

Of course, Harrison picking the Colts as his dream NFL team is an ode to his father, Marvin Sr.
The elder Harrison led a legendary career in Indianapolis where he was an elite wide receiver from 1996 to 2008.
He was famously Peyton Manning’s go-to target and routinely produced monster numbers.
Marvin Harrison Sr. during his NFL career:

✅ 14,580 Receiving Yards
✅ 128 Touchdowns🏆 8X Pro Bowler
🏆 Super Bowl Champ

For his career, Harrison Sr. hauled in 1,102 receptions for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns.
His contributions were instrumental in helping the Colts win the Super Bowl in the 2006 season.
Ultimately, Harrison Sr. was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

Unfortunately for the Colts, they hold the #15 overall pick in the draft.
Unless something truly shocking happens, there is no chance Harrison Jr. will still be on the board come that pick.
Of course, general manager Chris Ballard and the Colts could trade up to snag Harrison. However, moving up from #15 would certainly be costly to say the least.
Realistically, there is probably very little chance that Harrison Jr. winds up on his father’s old team.
Per @AlbertBreer, the #Giants could be using drafting a QB smokescreen "to get someone such as Minnesota or the Las Vegas Raiders or the Denver Broncos to jump them, so another player—maybe Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers—falls into their laps at No. 6."

What are your thoughts on Harrison’s preference to play for the Colts?
Do you think it was just a case of him trying to shout out his father’s old organization?
Is Harrison the best wide receiver in the entire draft?
Will he live up to the hype???
Marvin Harrison Jr., Rome Odunze and Malik Nabers are in their own tier among draft-eligible wideout prospects.
