The Deion Sanders era at Colorado kicked off in spectacular fashion on Saturday as his Buffaloes stunned the 17th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs in a thrilling 45-42 victory.
Sanders, making his Colorado debut, witnessed his underdog Buffaloes defy the odds in a drama-filled nail-biter.
According to reports, it was Sanders’ inspiring pre-game locker room speech that truly set the tone for the historic win.
In a video that recently surfaced, Sanders passionately rallied his players, emphasizing that the day was about them and no one else.
“It’s not about them, it’s about us,” Sanders fervently told his team before the game. “This has nothing to do with [TCU], this is about us. This ain’t got nothing to do with the naysayers, the unbelievers, the haters, or the doubters, this is about us.”
“We ain’t got tomorrow, we’ve got now. We ain’t got next, we’ve got now. We ain’t comin’ no more.”

The Buffaloes heeded their coach’s call and put on a remarkable performance on both sides of the ball. However, it was their offense that stole the show, led by Prime’s son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders,
Sanders threw for a program-record 510 yards. Four Buffaloes players finished the day with over 100 receiving yards, with wide receiver Dylan Edwards and two-way star Travis Hunter standing out.
Hunter, in addition to his offensive contributions, made a crucial red-zone interception that played a pivotal role in securing the upset victory.
With the spectacular win, Colorado is now on the cusp of cracking the top-25 rankings – an achievement that seemed improbable just a week ago.
The Buffaloes are now set to return home and face off against Nebraska.. The last time these schools met in Week 2 of the 2019 season, the Buffaloes emerged victorious with a 34-31 overtime win over the Cornhuskers.
Sanders’ Colorado hype-train is charging full-steam ahead.
