WATCH: Deion Sanders’ Controversial Pick For Best High School Football State Has Ruffled Feathers … Is He Crazy??

Deion Sanders is one of the most popular figures in football history.

Following his legendary Hall of Fame career, Sanders took his flash and sizzle into the coaching world.

Now, “Coach Prime” is in charge of the Colorado Buffaloes. With his (nearly) equally polarizing son Sheduer as his quarterback, times are good for the Sanders family.

Always one to speak his mind, and often controversially, Sanders recently appeared on Barstool’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast.

Among several topics, Prime was asked what state produces the best high school football players in the entire country.

While Texas instantly comes to mind when thinking of high school football, Sanders went a different route.

“Florida,” he said confidently.

“I think the best football high school wise is played in Texas but the dogs – Man there’s Florida, Louisiana, Georgia … Those states are right,” he added.

Sanders, who was born in Fort Myers, Florida, emphasized the overall talent of his home state.

His roots trace back to his high school days where he showcased his supreme football skills before making a name for himself at Florida State University.

His stellar college career eventually catapulted him to the NFL, where he was selected fifth overall in the 1989 NFL Draft, marking the beginning of an illustrious Hall of Fame career.

Transitioning from player to coach, Sanders ventured into the heart of Texas, where he made significant contributions to the football community.

He served as the head coach at Prime Prep Academy and Triple A Academy before assuming the role of offensive coordinator at Trinity Christian School, where he coached his son, Shedeur.

From there, Sanders took over Jackson State – where he also coached Sheduer.

Now, the pair – along with his other son Shilo – are together in Boulder with the Colorado Buffaloes.

Sanders’ assertion that Florida rivals Texas in producing top-tier football talent challenges the conventional wisdom that Texas, along with states like California, dominates the landscape.

Of course, that’s nothing against other states such as Louisiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc … Those are just a few of the other notable states for top-level high school football.

However, Sanders is confident that when push comes to shove, it’s the Sunshine State that produces the best players.

What are your thoughts?

Is Florida indeed the King when it comes to high school football talent? … Or is Sanders crazy?

What states would make your top three???
